The Halifax Roma Group was set up through Roma SOURCE to help local Roma people take a more active role in the community. Through the project, they learned about how to be more active citizens in Halifax, and have provided input to the local authority's scrutiny panel looking at community cohesion. They continue to flourish and are now a valuable point of contact for Roma people and for local organisations who want to engage better with Roma. © Roma SOURCE 2012
Good practice guides
A short guide to the good practice and learning from our citizenship and inclusion champions projects in the UK. We believe the projects have been valuable in supporting Roma people to take an active role engaging in civic society and encouraging inclusion in the wider community. They also provide valuable lessons for practitioners in how to carry out programmes involving Roma people as voluntary mediators within their communities. © Roma SOURCE 2013
